Product Information

Microbiome-friendly

A healthy microbiome (bacteria that live on skin) is essential to protect against inflammation and infection. However, most skincare products contain antimicrobial preservatives that wipe out good skin bacteria, leading to skin irritation and sensitivities over time. Prebiotics and postbiotics can help with microbiome maintenance and balance, aiding the skin's recovery from these harmful ingredients. Our research has conclusively shown that our face oil is microbiome-friendly, meaning that it does not disrupt the balance of healthy skin bacteria. After just 15 days of use, our face oil resulted in a significant increase in good bacteria growth, far outnumbering the bad strains and ultimately enhancing the skin's barrier for a healthy complexion.

Product Information

Oil Like Water

This oil has been ultra-purified in Japan to achieve an ultimate lightweight consistency, making it the perfect choice for moisturizing and hydrating the skin without clogging pores. Its noncomedogenic properties ensure that it won't leave any greasy residue, making it equally ideal for those with oily skin.

Product Information

Cold-pressed Organic Oils

We only use 100% pure seed oils that are cold-pressed and organic in our formulation. These oils are rich in oleic and linoleic acids, which are important for maintaining healthy skin and reducing signs of photo-ageing. Heat can degrade these valuable acids during the oil extraction process, but our complex cold-pressed extraction method ensures that all of the quality and benefits of the oil are expertly preserved.

FAQ

How can I use the facial oil?

Facial oils can be used in so many different ways:

  1. Use after Moisturizer
After applying moisturizer, evenly spread 2-3 drops of facial oil onto face using patting techniques.
  2. Mix with Moisturizer
Blend 2-3 drops of facial oil with your nighttime moisturizer and apply it to face and neck.
  3. Body Lotion
Blend 4-6 drops of face oil with your body lotion and spread evenly on skin while still damp from bath.
  4. Hair Mask
Towel dry hair after washing. Put a few drops of facial oil on a wide-toothed comb or fingers and run through hair to evenly spread it out.
  5. Bath & Shower Oil
Massage generous amount of facial oil over shoulders, torso and lower back. Step into a warm bath or shower and cleanse as normal.
  6. Cubticle Oil
Apply small drops on each cuticle, then massage for 10-20 seconds.
  7. Lip Oil
For an extra glow, apply 1-2 drops of facial oil on top of lip balm or lipstick.
Which facial oil should I use?

If you have dry or sensitive skin, Drop of Dew could be perfect for you. It has argan oil, which is great for nourishing and moisturizing your skin. If you're looking for anti-aging benefits and want to get rid of acne, Bloom of Youth is the way to go. Rosehip oil is a key ingredient, and it's packed full of Vitamin A, which helps to promote collagen production and smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. Plus, if you have oily or acne-prone skin, it won't leave any greasy residue behind.

I have oily skin, can I use facial oil?

If you have oily skin, adding facial oil to your skincare routine may seem daunting, especially if you are prone to blemishes. However, recent studies suggest that non-comedogenic oils like argan and rosehip oil can help to balance the skin. This is because dehydrated skin often over-produces sebum to compensate for the lack of moisture, which can lead to clogged pores, more frequent breakouts, and shine. In other words, oily skin can benefit from face oils as long as you choose the right ones.

Can facial oils cause acne or blackheads?

Our facial oils are dermalogist-tested and are approved to be non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores. The formula only includes natural plant-based ingredients and is free from artificial colours, fragrances and preservatives, reducing the risk of inflammation.

Can I replace moisturizer with facial oil?

Our face need both water and oil to be healthy. Moisturizers hydrate your skin while face oils help keep it there. It is best to use both for enhanced results.

Should I apply serum or facial oil first?

It is recommended to apply skincare products in order from lightest to heaviest. Serums should be applied before moisturizers. Facial oil can be gently patted onto the skin after moisturizer absorbs.

If you want to use both a serum and facial oil, but not at the same time, try using one product in your morning routine and the other in your nighttime routine. Apply the serum during the day since it is usually lighter and won't weigh down your skin. Then, use a richer oil at night to nourish your skin.

Who should use microbiome-friendly skincare?

Microbiome-friendly skincare is beneficial for everyone, but it should be a priority if you suspect your skin is imbalanced. Signs of an unbalanced microbiome include sensitivity, dryness, redness, itching, acne, and accelerated aging. Inflammatory and dry skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, and dermatitis have also been linked to an imbalanced microbiome. The skin's microflora can be disturbed by numerous factors including aging, hormones, UV exposure, pollution, medication, diet, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Rough treatment, such as aggressive manual exfoliation, the use of stripping sulfates, and overuse of retinol and other actives, can also upset this delicate balance. If you are unsure, consider returning to the basics of skincare and adding our biotics-infused facial oils to your routine.

How does prebiotics benefit my skin?

Your skin's health depend on the proper functioning of probiotics or the healthy bacteria residing on it. Prebiotics serve as the essential food source that these bacteria need to function effectively. By providing the necessary nutrition, prebiotics help strengthen your skin's microbiome, which in turn fortifies your skin's barrier against external pathogens that can cause issues like acne, rashes, allergies, and inflammations. Our clinical studies show that the prebiotics in our face oil increases good bacteria growth and enhances the skin's barrier in just 15 days.

How does postbiotics benefit my skin?

After the fermentation process, probiotic bacteria leave behind natural by-products known as postbiotics. These by-products offer the same beneficial effects as probiotics but are more resistant to preservatives. Notably, they act as antioxidants and humectants, making them highly beneficial to the skin.

Are there probiotics in your facial oils?

No, probiotics are defined as living microorganisms and cannot be directly used to formulate skincare products. For safety reasons, preservatives must be added but would destroy the "living" probiotics. Some brands may claim to offer "probiotic skincare" by incorporating ferments or lysates such as Bifidus Ferment or Saccharomyces Lysate, but it should be noted that these bacterial strains are no longer alive and should be more accurately referred to as postbiotics. While this concept is intriguing, true probiotic skincare is not yet available.
